Friday Football: Diablos Favored Over Nemesis Tesoro

by MissionViejoDispatch.com on October 22, 2009

Tesoro scuttled Mission’s hope for league titles the past two years, but the Diablos should have the upper hand in Friday’s home field matchup. Massey’s ratings predict 35-15 for Mission Viejo.

Mission (6-0) is looking for a way to break out of its 2nd place ranking in Southern California, so will be watching No. 1 Edison (6-0) and No. 3 Servite (5-1).  The Diablos don’t meet either team in the regular season, so needs to achieve some impressive victories, especially since the locals’ are playing a softer schedule.  Tesoro is ranked 67. Edison plays Mater Dei (#25) this week, and Servite takes on Newport Harbor (#41).

The Trabuco Hills Mustangs (4-2, #51) face Huntington Beach and are favored by a 17-point margin.  Capistrano Valley (#123) is in a toss-up against Alisos Viejo (#125), but Aliso has home field advantage.
