After performing the Nutcracker for over 22 years, the Laguna Ballet will perform at its new location at the McKinney Theatre in Mission Viejo. The full length program is directed by Artistic Director Shery Gilbert. In addition to founding Laguna Dance Theatre and Laguna Ballet, Gilbert actively coaches dancers of the New York City Ballet, Miami City Ballet and Nevada Ballet Theatre.
The lead role of Clara will be played by Madeline Hunstein and Sasha Zagorski, and returning guest artist is Anton Pankevich of Ballet San Jose. Lauren Eggersten and Shelby Peterson will play the Sugar Plum Fairy.
There will be six performances December 17-20. The McKinney Theatre is located on the campus of Saddleback College on Theatre Way, next to Parking Lot 12 [map]. Tickets are available online or by calling 582-4656 Tues-Fri, noon-4pm.
