Lance Corporal Alex Minsky suffered brain damage when injured earlier this year by a roadside bomb during his tour in Afghanistan as a mortarman. Two public blood drives are scheduled in Mission Viejo this week.
On Tuesday, August 18, donors can report to a city-sponsored event at the Saddleback Room at City Hall from noon to 7.
On Thursday, August 20, residents are invited to donate at the Elks Lodge, at 25092 Marguerite Pkwy near La Paz.
