Archisand badge 180   Mission Viejo’s Archisand sculpting team helped lead the fight against drug use Saturday at Baby Beach in Dana Point Harbor.  The event was sponsored by Drug Abuse Is Life Abuse, a support group of the OC Sheriff’s Advisory Council, because drug use is closely tied with criminal behavior.

This was the 1st Sand Sculpting Competition for the Sheriff’s group.  High school students were invited to form 5-person teams and participate in a sculpting contest.  Archisand, a professional team, gave the students instructions working with sand before the competition began.  The pros also created a demonstration sculpture showing an off-road vehicle climbing out of the sand.
