She Died On Her Harley Sunday

Motorcycle Kelly Reister crop    Mission  Viejo  resident  Kelly  Reister died Sunday evening after losing control of her motorcycle on Ortega Highway.

    CHP Officer Denise Quesada advised the Dispatch the 51-year-old Reister was a novice rider.  A friend said she had been riding for a year or two.  According to witnesses she was operating the bike conservatively at about 35 mph.  As Reister approached a long curve, however, she lost control and the Harley left the road and struck a rock formation.  Kelly was thrown from the bike and pronounced dead about 8 pm after being flown to Mission Hospital.

    Kelly was the Sales and Marketing Director at Shur-lock Company where her outgoing personality was appreciated by co-workers and clients.  She was close to her father who was out-of-town when the accident occurred. Kelly was single.

Such a shame. Rest in peace Kelly Reister. Twice now going over Ortega Highway in the last year I have come up to stopped traffic, literally stopped. Both times a motorcyle rider had died in a crash. I understand Ortega is beautiful, but I really think it is a dangerous road for motorcycle rider. It is too bad.
