With over 93,000 jobs lost in Orange county this year, please help me understand how such a pay increase is justifiable. In addition, my work ethic tells me that top management should be setting the tone for the rest of our City employees. At a time when every budget is being ‘taxed’ to the limit due to the cost of food, fuel, medical & housing, to name the major culprits, I really believe our public officials should be the first to agree to at least a temporary ‘freeze’ on salaries. I think this is both irresponsible and shameful on the part of our City Council members who supported this increase.
