SVUSD Will Produce City Recreation Events

   The City of Mission Viejo has extended a contract with SVUSD Recreation Department to produce recreational events for Mission Viejo during the next two years.  The events are Hometown Halloween, A Visit With Santa, North Pole Calling and Bunny Days. The City also provides funds for the School District to provide after-school day care, known as Kids Factory, at all thirteen elementary schools in Mission Viejo.

   The agreement provides $700,000 per year to SVUSD, but any revenues collected are deducted from the City’s costs. The estimated costs are: 

  • Administration $206,232
  • Kid’s Factory – summer $119,783
  • Kid’s Factory – school year $310,709
  • Goal Zone $24,736
  • Halloween $15,580
  • Visits with Santa $8,711
  • North Pole Calling $794
  • Bunny Days $13,455
  • TOTAL NET COST- (7-1-09 to 6-30-10) $700,000

How did you get this started? I want to get this in place in Rancho Santa Margarita.
