Tea Party Patriots Will Oppose Taxes & Spending Saturday: Recall An Issue

by MissionViejoDispatch.com on January 28, 2010

The Tea Party revolution will be active this Saturday, Jan. 30, in Mission Viejo. The impetus for the movement is government spending and taxes.

The same fiscal elements are present in the current Mission Viejo recall, based on the liberal spending and tax record of Councilman Lance MacLean. It is expected Tea Party participants will urge voters to protect fiscal responsibility by voting “Yes” on the recall.

Many local Tea Party ‘Patriots’ have indicated support for fiscally conservative candidate Dale Tyler against the team of MacLean and Dave Leckness. MacLean was the ballot proponent for the only tax increase ever proposed to MV voters. Tyler opposed the tax, and voters rejected MacLean’s proposal.

On the spending side, MacLean voted to bestow lifetime medical benefits for part-time council members, while Tyler has pledged to repeal the benefit if elected. Leckness says he supports the status quo and has failed to criticize MacLean’s actions on taxes and lifetime medical benefits.

The local Republican group, which supported MacLean in 2002, voted unanimously in favor of recalling MacLean and endorsing Tyler in next Tuesday’s election. Tyler has also received support from Democrats, including an endorsement by the President of the Casta del Sol Democratic Club.

The event is scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the intersection of LaPaz and Marguerite.

Taking back America is all about getting rid of the special interest and their big bucks. Like a union that spends over $73,000 in our Mission Viejo local election to keep a proven angry man in office.

See you Saturday! MacLean must go.While I am generally against the expense of recalls, what clinched it for me was the Sheriff’s Union full color glossy flyer(one of many) picturing the cute schoolgirl who is concerned for her future if MacLean is recalled. I don’t like being played for a chump.
