Yesterday’s MV survey of Superbowl commercials gave first-place to the Doritos ad (below). Second place went to a Budweiser ad featuring a Clydesdale horse and bull, and third featured Betty White in a sand-lot football game. The choices listed the top ten picks from Sunday in USA Today’s ad meter results. Those three ads place 2nd, 1st and 4th, respectively in the USA, so Mission Viejo tracked closely with the nation. Superbowl TV time sold to advertisers for $80,000 per second this year.
The Dispatch poll received write-in votes for seven additional commercials including NCIS (head slap), Bret Favre, E-Trade, VW, Doritos (slap), and Google. The highest number of write-ins was for the Tebow pro-life ad.
