Police Chase Ends In MV

About a dozen law enforcement vehicles were involved Tuesday in a car chase which ended in front of Mission Hospital.

The incident began in San Clemente where deputies were questioning a parolee regarding stolen property. The 30-year-old white male suddenly ran away on foot and was able to jump in a vehicle and flee.

The pursuit went north on the I-5 until the suspect exited on Avery.  He traveled along the frontage road for the Shops at MV before ending up on Medical Center Drive. At that point officers initiated a maneuver causing the suspect’s vehicle to spin out of control, and the man was apprehended.

Lt. Chacon told the Dispatch stolen property was recovered, but its description and source were not yet known. There were no injuries and no damage to other vehicles.
