Mission Viejo women are invited to join other local gals interested in learning how to use guns.
The event will take place on Wednesday evening, April 29 at the On-Target Indoor Shooting Range at 27692 Camino Capistrano, Laguna Niguel, off Avery. The hands-on instruction will be led the Range Safety Officer, Mrs. Dee McKay. Classroom information will include gun handling and safety, prior to moving to the shooting range.
Experienced people will supervise each shooting lane to help work on gun familiarity and shooting mechanics. Firearms will be low caliber weapons for comfort and ease of use.
No experience is needed. The estimated cost is $20 or less per shooter.
The event is being organized by Mark Dobrilovic. Space is limited and participants will be accepted on a RSVP basis. For more information, or to reserve a place, contact Mark at 714-240-0681.

For the record, it was a group of women who were going for their first time, not gals! I don’t want women angry, and THEN hand them a gun! Seriously, it will be a fun, informal – yet structured shoot. I love to take new people shooting, as many shooters do, and have had many requests from women, so decided to try this!
How fantastic! I wish I still had the time to shoot. I have very fond memories of the shooting lanes at On-Target. This is a very neat gesture on the part of On-Target to educate the population. If every parent taught their child to treat every gun as though it were loaded, we might cut down on the number of senseless deaths each year from firearm misuse. A healthy respect for firearms, rather than an ostrich-like “head in the sand” approach would be a blessing.
Thanks to Mark for this opportunity. We’re looking forward to it.
