A suicidal man on Recodo Lane in Mission Viejo left the residence before police arrived yesterday. The man’s girlfriend lived at the home, and her mother reported the 28-year-old boyfriend was threatening suicide.
Police found the man in his car at an intersection in Lake Forest. He was apparently headed for his girlfriend’s workplace to deliver a suicide note.
After ignoring repeated request to exit the vehicle, the man finally complied. He was carrying a nine millimeter handgun.
He was taken to an Orange County mental health facility for evaluation.
