Do I hear whining? There is no crying or whining in baseball OR politics . . . or is there?! There has been a lot of it in Mission Viejo politics. Can we find some grownups somewhere to fill those city seats? It is time to move on and don’t let the door hit you in the derriere on the way out. Tea party, anyone??

If I had the chance to vote, Lance would have lost by 20. I am so thankful that my not being able to vote, didn’t allow him to win.

The people can’t steal something that already belongs to us. Politicians that actually think the seat they occupy is theirs, demonstrate a “ruling class attitude. Such a thing Americans will not abide.

The only point Lance’s comment makes is that he’s the kind of politician that relies on the sheep among us to keep his job. Those of us that get engaged in the issues dive deeper than the sheep, and so he uses ignorance and apathy as his tools. Yeah – Lance has a point all right.

The other side of the coin is, if the replacement candidate chosen by the recall initiators had not been embroiled in a scandal, the recall, itself, would most likely have passed by an overwhelming margin, instead of a hair’s breadth.

Some people NEVER let it go – blaming others for their losses.

This summer I was back at my high school reunion only to meet a chap who played for an opposing high school football team we beat 21-20.

My team went on to win the state championship that season. That person still had not forgotten that 21-20 game. He was also the person that caused his team a fifteen yard penalty that led to one of our touchdowns.

Some people never learn, or ever let it go: even after 50 years.

But the numbers tell a story of their own:

47,203 Mission Viejo voters are living out their lives unaware of what is going on at City Hall. These are the people who MacLean, Ury, Kelley and the city manager desperately count on.

7,351 Mission Viejo voters watched the TV advertisements on Fox & CNN and believed all the lies and misinformation that was being fed to them, without questioning. These are the people that our corporate & special interest lobbyists count on.

Meanwhile, Lance MacLean actually managed to impact 7,370 people to the point that they were upset enough to say, “no more”. 7,370 Mission Viejo voters that Lance MacLean or the police union, well . . . never counted on.
