Former CUSD Superintendent Woodrow Carter had his lawsuit dismissed Friday in Superior Court. Carter was seeking a buyout for 18 months of the remaining 28 months on his contract at the time he was fired.
Judge Steven Perk found Carter’s contract was not ambiguous and clearly did not provide for severance or buyout pay upon early termination. Carter was seeking almost $500,000 in damages, plus interest and attorney fees. He has 21 days to attempt to revive the suit by amending and refiling the complaint, according to the OCR.
