Mustangs Carry MV To Championship Game

by MissionViejoDispatch.com on December 7, 2009

The Trabuco Hills Mustang football teams have played in the legendary shadow of the cross-town Diablos, but this year will be carrying MV pride when it meets La Habra Saturday at Angel Stadium.  The Diablo team missed its opportunity for a Pac-5 title after losing its semi-final game to Servite 19-18. But the Mustangs won their semi-final contest against Tustin last week to earn a trip to the Southwest Division championship game.

Trabuco High will be a slight underdog.  Massey’s rates La Habra as #41 statewide while Trabuco is #62, and predicts a victory for La Habra 29-24.

This just might be the best Mustang team since coach Jim Barnett’s Mustangs who won CIF championships in the early 90′s. They have great team speed and a swarming defense.

Go Mustangs !!!
