The Trabuco Hills Mustangs jump this year from the Sea View League into the heat of the South Coast League. THHS will now compete against traditional powerhouses Mission Viejo, Tesoro, San Clemente and Dana Point.
Last year the School hired Coach Scott Orloff who has 29 years of coaching experience. For the past eight years he was defensive coordinator at Orange Coast College where his defenses always ranked in the top ten in California.
Prior to OCC, Coach Orloff spent six years as Dana Hills head coach and three years as the head coach for Santa Ana Valley High School, helping build both schools into playoff contenders.
The school also moves from the CIF Southwest Division to the Pac-5 Division. Last year Trabuco Hills advanced to the Southwest Division Championship game, losing to LaHabra at Angel Stadium.
The Mustangs open their season against Capo Valley this Friday and will play their last game against Mission Viejo. The new league competition against Mission Viejo is likely to intensify the cross-town rivalry.
