Mission Viejo’s Drew Radovich is ranked the 8th best offensive guard among 175 prospects in this year’s National Football League draft. NFL Scout predicts he will become an NFL pro in the 5th round. The draft will be televised on nationwide cable TV from Radio City Music Hall in New York City on April 26-27.
Drew is graduating from USC, but looks back to Mission Viejo High with greatest respect. “It was like a mini-SC,” Radovich told the Dallas News. “We had a strict weight-lifting regimen, along with off-season field and film work.”
Radovich graduated from MVHS in 2002 where he played on two state championship teams. Although he helped USC achieve a 47-5 record and win a national college championship, his best memory is MVHS’s CIF Championship win against Chino, and his two CIF rings are his most-prized possessions. As a senior at MVHS, his achievements included Parade All-American first team, Super Prep All-American, Prep Star All-American, Student Sports All-American, Riddell Footwear All-American, Tom Lemming All-American, Prep Star Top 100 Dream Team, The Sporting News Hot 100, FOX Sports 50, Super Prep All-Farwest, Prep Star All-West, Tom Lemming All-West, Long Beach Press-Telegram Best in the West first team, Tacoma News Tribune Western 100, Orange County Register Fab 15 first team, Cal-Hi Sports All-State Lineman MVP, All-CIF Southern Section first team, All-CIF Division II first team, Los Angeles Times All-Star first team, Los Angeles Times All-Orange County first team and Orange County Register All-Orange County first team as an offensive and defensive lineman.
