City & League Championship At Stake

by MissionViejoDispatch.com on February 7, 2012

It is likely Mission and Capo Valley will both have 22-3 basketball records when they meet Thursday in the Diablo gym. But Capo defeated Mission by 3 points on the CV court last month, creating a showdown in this rubber match for the South Coast League championship.  Both teams are 11-1 against common opponents this season. Capo is ranked 2nd and Mission 4th in this week’s OC Top 10 poll.

If MV wins, there isn’t a playoff in the South Coast League to determine the champ, nor are the point spreads considered - MV and CV would be co-champions. A coin flip would determine which would be seeded highest for the CIF playoffs.
